The honest reading: on subscription alone, TherapyNotes is close to us and its claims are cheaper. The difference opens up when you count the AI notes you would otherwise pay for, the telehealth add-on for groups, and the two things on our side of the table that have no price on theirs because they don't exist there: billing for between-session care and selling courses to your clients.

What we don't have yet

You will find these on competitor sites and not here. We would rather you know now.

  • E-prescribing. TherapyNotes offers it at $65 a prescriber a month. We do not, and prescribers should weigh that.
  • A decade of integrations. SimplePractice has more third-party connections. We have an open API and a growing list; ask us about the one you need.
  • A large public directory. SimplePractice's Monarch is big. The Presence+ network is built differently (communities refer people who already have a relationship with a helper) and it is early.

Your historical notes stay in your export, where they are legally yours; new notes start here. Run both systems in parallel for a couple of weeks if that feels safer.
